The Chalet

Perched on piers and beams and nestled into the side of a wooded hill, The Chalet offers a tranquil view from inside and out. As one guest described it, “There is just something about being up high!” The covered front porch overlooks the lake and the two-car garage under the house provides parking for your car and boat. The Chalet has a large fenced-in yard and is "pet-friendly" with prior approval and pet fee (see Chalet under Rates & Cancellations and Pet Policy under Policy & Procedures on navigation menu). Adjacent to The Chalet is a fire pit, fishing pier, and boat ramp for your use.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1025 square foot cedar chalet accommodates up to 6 people comfortably and has most of the conveniences in your own home including:

• Central air/heat
• High-speed wireless Internet access
• Satellite TV/DVD
• Large fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker)
• Washer and dryer
• Propane grill

Beds:

• Queen-size bed in master bedroom
• Queen-size bed and set of bunk beds in second bedroom

Bath:

• Full bath with tub/shower combination, separate dressing area with lavatory

Seating:

• Table for 6 in dining/living area
• Bar with 3 stools
• Table for 4 on covered deck

• Bedding and pillows
• Kitchen and bath towels
• Some basic staples (seasonings, sweeteners, etc.)
• Paper goods
• Kitchen, bath and laundry soap
• Information notebook (numbers/directions to local services and attractions)

Fishing:

• Fish off the pier, bring your boat, or full guide service is available - go to Toledo Bend Guide Service on navigation menu for information and rates. (Low water conditions may prohibit fishing off pier and launching boat here.)

Just 4 miles down the road there are 2 convenience stores/delis/diners (one has an RV park) with 24-hour gas and diesel pumps. A deep-water boat launch, gated wet boat stalls, plus an RV park are located at Huxley Bay, only 1 mile from the stores.

An eastern lake view allows for a spectacular sunrise or a magnificent moon. With The Cottage and The Chalet located within walking distance of each other, large groups are easily accommodated. It’s all this plus the peaceful setting that keeps our guests coming back for more!
